OBSBOT Meet Flip: is the $119 foldable 4K webcam worth it?
The OBSBOT Meet Flip is a tiny 4K webcam that folds shut over its own lens. What it does well, where it falls short and who should buy it.

Most webcams are either cheap and blurry or expensive and bulky. The OBSBOT Meet Flip, launched in July 2026 for $119, tries to be neither: a 4K camera small enough to carry in a pocket, which folds shut over its own lens when you’re done.
Our verdict: it’s one of the easiest webcams to recommend for laptop users and anyone on frequent video calls. Just don’t rely on its microphone for anything more serious than meetings.
We haven’t tested the Meet Flip ourselves. This review is based on OBSBOT’s specifications and on independent reviews from Tom’s Guide, PCWorld, Gizmochina, GameRevolution and CGMagazine.

What’s good
The folding design is genuinely clever
The camera folds down into its own stand. Folded, the lens is physically covered, so you get a privacy shutter without any extra parts, and the whole thing becomes a small block you can drop in a bag. Unfolded, the stand clips onto a laptop lid or monitor. Reviewers single this out more than anything else: CGMagazine notes how the camera folds into its mount as a privacy shutter, and Gizmochina says the fold is the part it liked most.
Sharp 4K, and fast autofocus
The 1/2-inch sensor is large for a webcam this size, and it shows. PCWorld found the 4K picture rich in detail in good light and the autofocus fast, and Tom’s Guide praised its clear image. If your laptop’s own camera makes you look like a smudge, this is a big upgrade.
Useful software
OBSBOT’s free desktop app handles AI framing that keeps you centred, gesture controls for zooming, and background blur or replacement. Reviewers describe the app as clean and easy to use, and you can ignore it completely and use the Meet Flip as a plain plug-in webcam.
The catches
- The microphone is its weak spot. Tom’s Guide’s one complaint was the mic quality, and Gizmochina says it isn’t suited to podcasting or presenting. Fine for meetings; for anything else, add a USB microphone.
- The AI meeting notes aren’t free for long. “AI Magic Notes” transcribes and summarises calls in Zoom, Google Meet and Teams, but you get only 120 free minutes; after that, it’s a subscription.
- No Windows Hello. PCWorld points out that you can’t use it to sign in to Windows with your face, which some business webcams can.
- No carrying case, odd for a camera designed to travel, and Gizmochina found the USB-C cable stiff, so it needs room behind a monitor.
- Not much better than OBSBOT’s own Meet 2 for image quality. GameRevolution found the two broadly similar; what you pay for here is the folding design, the privacy and the meeting features.
Who should buy it?
Buy it if you work on a laptop, travel with it, or want a sharp, private webcam you can put away when you’re done. It’s especially good for people who switch between home and office.
Skip it if you need great audio from the camera itself, you use Windows Hello to sign in, or you mostly present to a room, where a wider camera with better microphones makes more sense.
Buying in India
OBSBOT sells the Meet Flip through its own store and Amazon, with prices that vary by region. We couldn’t confirm Indian stock or pricing, so search Amazon India for “OBSBOT Meet Flip” and compare with OBSBOT’s store before you buy.
The bottom line
The OBSBOT Meet Flip gets the important things right: a sharp picture, fast focus, real privacy and a design you’ll actually take with you. At $119, it’s an easy recommendation for video calls. Pair it with a proper microphone if your voice matters as much as your face.
